Patriots’ approach to 2021 NFL Draft ‘was a whole lot different,’ especially Bill Belichick’s role (report) Updated May 10, 2021; Facebook Share For better or for worse, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are famous for marching to the beat of their own drum in the NFL Draft. In recent years, though, criticism has emerged that the drum in question is more Belichick’s and the organization’s -- namely the scouts who work in draft prep. That, combined with the Patriots’ re...

New Englands No. 15 pick, who tries to "learn from the best," idolized the quarterback and displays a similar work ethic and passion for the game.

33. Jacksonville Jaguars – CB Tyson Campbell, Georgia Not a ton of production in terms of turning the ball over for the Bulldogs, but you cant teach sub-4.4 speed or a willingness to tackle. Gives the Jags a nice nickel package with CJ Henderson and newly signed Shaquill Griffin. 34. New York Jets – WR Elijah Moore, Mississippi The NYJ continue investing in assets to surround new QB Zach Wilson. After bolstering the O-line in Round 1 with OL Alijah Vera-Tucker, GM Joe Douglas gets th...

General manager Terry Fontenot and coach Arthur Smith’s first NFL draft together is a day away. And it’s not clear what the tandem may choose to do. Basically anything except for trading up is an option for the Atlanta Falcons, and Fontenot could try to trade back to acquire more picks to help with replenishing the roster. He could take offensive tackle Penei Sewell, tight end Kyle Pitts or one of the remaining quarterbacks available – possibly Trey Lance, Mac Jones or Justin Fields. It w...

Copied! With all the talk of trading up for a future QB in the 2021 draft and the negativity surrounding the re-signing of Cam Newton I feel that Coach Belichick believes like myself that Cam Newton has the potential to maintain the level of play he showed in the first 4 games of last season. What is your take on this and your opinion on what to do with NKeal Harry as I still think he has a skillset that is good to have but, just has not clicked for him? -Mark Saez Theres no bigger qu...

New England’s run of cornerbacks in the draft under Bill Belichick have been as true a boom-or-bust proposition as there is, in tune with the very nature of the position. But unlike at wide receiver, the Patriots have actually been able to find cornerbacks on a consistent basis ... just not where you’d think. Since taking over as coach and general manager in 2000, Belichick has overseen the selection of seven cornerbacks in the second round of the draft or higher: Terrence Wheatley (second...

The Atlanta Falcons have some high-end talent on their roster. There’s no question there. There are, though, some holes. General managers and head coaches always preach the middle class and back end of the roster. That’s where the depth is important. That’s where the Falcons have a lot of possible problems at a lot of positions. The Falcons have 55 players on their roster. Five of those players are specialists – six depending on how one views Cordarrelle Patterson -- which means Atlanta...
