A real estate attorney who works with nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity and the Louisville Urban League, John Borders Jr. is an expert on home ownership and real estate transactions. Though he often works with people in west Louisville, the Hikes Point native said he only recently began to understand the disparity of wealth between the city’s Black and white communities.

Feb. 10, 2021 Kentucky vaccination sites have begun the long process of inoculating the 1C category, made up of more than 1 million people.  On March 1, Kentucky's regional vaccination clinics opened appointments to those in the 1C category. But not everyone had access right away. First in line were those 60 and older, who continue to be a priority.  On March 15, the sites expanded access to medically compromised people, with some sites opening to essential workers, too. Beginning March 22, all those 50 and older will have access in the 1C category as well.

1C COVID vaccination group Kentucky: Vaccination appointments to open

Kentucky vaccination sites have begun the long process of inoculating the 1C category, made up of more than 1 million people.  On March 1, Kentucky's regional vaccination clinics opened appointments to those in the 1C category. But not everyone had access right away. First in line were those 60 and older, who continue to be a priority.  On March 15, the sites expanded access to medically compromised people, with some sites opening to essential workers, too. Beginning March 22, all those 50 and older will have access in the 1C category as well.   Who is in the 1C category? The 1C category consists of more than 1 million Kentuckians. Louisville's health strategist, Dr. Sarah Moyer, recently estimated the group makes up around 60% of Jefferson County's population.
