View Comments A woman died Friday evening after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree on Cherokee Road, according to Louisville Metro Police. The woman was driving a car in the 1500 block of Cherokee Road at about 7:15 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle "for some unknown reason," LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.  The woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Mitchell said. There were no other passengers in the car.
