To the campaign after the trip, sort of describing his interactions with government officials, business executives, et cetera. and the e-mailing came as a part of the house intelligence committees investigation and they were produced by the campaign. as you say, he -- carter page has been out and about in the media for months. "the new york times" has talked to him frequently and its been very difficult to get any charity on who he met with, and whether he met with government officials. in some ...

Thanks, rachel. >> carter page is an unusual figure because he does a lot of media interviews and he doesnt appear to have a lawyer and he speaks in ways that make him seem like a comic figure. that said, what you described here is serious in terms of how honest the campaign has been about knowing about russian contacts by people in the trump campaign during the campaign. is that basically the gist of it? >> right. i think the only reason this emerged is because during the testimony yesterday be...

Professor has connections to the kremlin and repeatedly sought to arrange a meets. george also doubt t conflicts he had with a female national when she also had ties to the russians that george pitched to the campaign as part of an effort that trump meet with vladimir putin in russia. the woman was also described as putins niece. in march, when he met with the woman and professor in london they talked about setting up a meeting. they said the leadership, including putin is ready to meet with us ...

Seeking re-election. i think the president is going to feel more emboldened and talk about the stock market hitting a new high and then you have no legislation and i dont see how you get tax reform moving on news like this today. the temperature in the room, just the emotion that you saw from mitch mcconnell who you never see him emotional and i do think a lot of pressure now turns to the house speaker. i think paul ryan -- theres going to be a lot of pressure on him. theres been people asking w...

That i think everybody realize that can reach out to thousands of yards. >> a guy from who all ive heard did not have any military training would have the ability to do this? i mean, hes got two locations, hes got the weaponry, hes got, you know -- i mean it seems like a staked out position. the cameras? >> a lot of this doesnt make sense, youre putting your finger on a corner of it, anderson. an individual who acquired this kind of weapon over months or years. he was also acquiring a explosive ...

>> well, first of all, just a slight correction. i think that was dowd that did the e-mailing and not ty cobb. one of the things youve got here are three lawyers with different status. cobb and mcgahn both have the same status. their client is not donald trump. its the office of the president whereas dowd, his client is the president. he has a privilege. thats clear. its not so clear that the others have a privilege. so i think if youre mueller, what you do is you go after those other two and te...

On drugs. hes the same guy that was e-mailing with a prankster that had an e-mail that included prankster in the e-mail address and revealing his analysis of the case. so i dont know. i think actually, you know, what they did was unethical in terms of not maintaining confidentiality in that restaurant, but it would be more unethical and more problematic if they were trying to leak to "the new york times" through deception. so i hope for their sake that they didnt do something that stupid. >> oka...

Mention that a number of people did seem distracted, looking at their phone, e-mailing, texting. of course, israeli delegation we saw them paying very close attention. >> benjamin netanyahu, all eyes on that. >> one of the things the diplomats are doing is they are looking at a translation theyre g getting. they will have a copy of the presidents speech. it can look like theyre looking down or bored. >> i take it back. >> you did see that chilly reaction, especially from the venezuelans, cubans ...

Money. >> jonathan, what do you think of that defense? youve covered a lot of stories where political explanations shift. hes saying the texting, e-mailing, voice mail that we played at the top of the beat were all jokes. i dont know the voice mail didnt have a lot of jokey format to me. >> you mean to tell me that on a story this big, lets just say this fake story was true. a story where youre in contact with the white house, where the president is saying weve got to get this story out immediat...
