During this tough COVID-19 climate, I thought of showing some support to the less-publicised hidden new cafes in Singapore.
Perhaps you have never heard of CA.Gelato Cafe. Even my friend who stays and works at Bukit Timah have not come across it.
This is opened by the CakeArtelier known for its agar agar and jelly cakes.

CA.Gelato Cafe is found at the slightly hidden away corner of Beauty World Plaza – not to be confused with Beauty World Centre where the food centre. This is at the lesser visited side.
However, there is a certain charm to this place. It adopts a hole-in-the-wall aesthetic with plants and dried flowers decorating the entrance.
We have written about many hidden cafes in Singapore found at more obscure places, but this is another found right within a mall.
55 Degree Celsius is located right at Level 1 of Harbourfront Centre, though there is not much social media buzz about it. (This is not to be confused with Degree Celsius at Penang Road.)
While next door mall VivoCity enjoys a healthy flow of human traffic, the shops at Harbourfront Centre seemed comparatively quieter.
The café opens from 8am in the morning – great for the working crowd in the vicinity, and offers a variety of specialty coffee which are sourced from Sarnies and Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee.

Located a short stroll away from Buona Vista MRT station, Ghim Moh Market & Food Centre is the dining spot of choice for the area’s residents and office workers looking for a hearty and affordable meal.
It was founded in 1978 and underwent a facelift in 2015, but still retains much of its old-school, neighbourhood charm.
