Hawk Mountain Sanctuary received a Christmas present recently during a brief ceremony in Cabelaâs store in the Tilden Ridge Shopping Center.
Ed Bartolotta, Cabelaâs general manager, presented a check for $4,000 to Sean Grace, sanctuary president, in the Tilden Township store.
The check is the first of three grants totaling $11,000 awarded this season from the Bass Pro Shops Cabelaâs Outdoor Fund, which supports programs and initiatives that conserve wildlife and habitat and connect people to the outdoors.

The fund is also awarding $4,000 to the One Wish Foundation in Fleetwood and $3,000 to the Lehigh Valley Zoological Society, which operates the Lehigh Valley Zoo in Schnecksville, Lehigh County.
