Your Letters: May 30, 2021 Reader Submissions Questions for Biden How does one win a contest without showing up? It’s like winning the lottery without buying a ticket. Oh, I forgot. No complicated questions. OK, heres a simple one: Where are you, Mr. President? Ken Churchill, Hesperia Pandoras Box Every day, I wake with a sickening feeling about the state of our nations political future. It matters not who won the election, or who lost. Whats important is this nations sad state of affairs, ca...

Your Letters: May 5, 2021 Reader Submissions Charley Glasper Thank you for the story on the passing of Adelanto leader Charley Glasper. Your story reminded me of several community projects Charley helped bring. Charley led the renovation of a broken tennis court located behind Richardson Hall into a cool BMX bike and skateboard park. The park is special as Charley organized local skaters and bikers to help design its features. The parks opening ushered in additional upgrades to Richardson Park....

Your Letters: April 26, 2021 Reader Submissions Biden’s ‘Gong Show’ For those old enough to remember “The Gong Show” from the mid-1970s, that talent show for amateurs reminds me of the Biden administration. You can search old clips of the show on YouTube. I ask, does the current group in Washington appear related to some of the contestants? If you believe in prayer, you best start praying now. After a three-year decline, the 850 letters printed in the Daily Press in 2020 represent a 20% increase over 2019. This uptick also represents good progress toward a return to a tim...

Your Letters: Jan. 25, 2021 Reader Submissions I have the answer… ...for all the problems right-wing extremists have with our country. Texas wants to secede from the union. OK, how about we let them. In fact, the government, you know, should help them pack their bags. Provide transportation for those wanting to relocate to Texas. Texas will reciprocate by providing transportation to all those extremists relocating to that state. Texas is big enough to hold them all. Texas can rename their “...

Your Letters: Dec. 23, 2020 Topics: The Manchurian Candidate, a smear campaign, looking for proof and hypocrisy Reader Submissions Joe Biden, the ‘Manchurian Candidate’ For those of us who remember that movie, the current Biden platform smacks of socialism, and his declared love for China and his legislative record are a rude awakening to where he is headed as 2020’s “Manchurian Candidate.” Irv Kettler, Victorville Smear campaign Repugnicans’ latest smear campaign is trying to convi...
