With ongoing staffing shortages for school bus drivers, the state will partner with counties for the second year in a row to provide transportation for students attending Hawai‘i public schools.

High school bus routes on the Big Island and Maui have been modified due to the bus driver shortages, but school bus service will continue.

The Department of Education canceled or suspended bus service for 14 schools statewide after dozens of drivers quit.
