Donald “Doc” Bennett, 83, was caught and charged in the heists of a Chase Bank – and is linked to a half-dozen more -- after he was released in 2020 from his second stint behind bars, the FBI said. Bennett, of Kentucky, and Edward Binert, 55, were arrested at Binert’s Illinois home last Wednesday.

Police reportedly arrested an 83-year-old man who was wanted in connection to seven bank heists conducted within the past seven months in Illinois.

Two suspects are in custody after a bank robbery in Hickory Hills Wednesday afternoon.

Donald Bennett complained in 2022 that he’d spent 33 years in prison and “all I want to do is spend the time I have left with my family.”
