Others suggested extreme precautions, which had minimal benefits or were hard to implement. Rebuilding trust is not just about clearer, more persuasive communication but also admitting to mistakes 

American trust in them has dropped, given their pandemic mis-calls, but they could earn it back. Their dedication to the pursuit of truth is under watch.
