First responders in Hamilton County conducted a rescue of a hiker at the Rainbow Lake Trail on Signal Mountain on Tuesday. 

Crews responded to the report of a missing bicyclist around 4:00 pm. When they arrived, Lawrence Jeffrey Lipcsey was found dead and a recovery operation began.

A bicyclist was found dead Monday afternoon after being reported missing on Signal Mountain, according to the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office.

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust recently appointed Eliot Berz to serve as executive director of the nonprofit land trust following the retirement of Rick Huffines, who served in the role for about a decade.
