Left-hander Shota Imanaga returned to form while shortstop Dansby Swanson tallied another multi-hit game as the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-2.

Imanaga held the Reds to two runs through 6 2/3 innings.

Imanaga allowed as many runs Wednesday as he had in his first nine starts combined.

Imanaga originally was scheduled to pitch Friday, but when the game was postponed, the Cubs pushed his start to the next series in Milwaukee.

Imanaga makes success look so simple, it's easy to forget to ask him how he's handling life alone in a huge new city halfway around the world from home.

Imanaga held the Red Sox to one run through 6 1/3 innings in the Cubs' 7-1 win Friday.

The Red Sox made a pitch to Shota Imanaga when he was a free agent this offseason, but he opted to sign with the Cubs. Friday he provided a glimpse of what could have been in a dominant outing at Fenway Park.

All in all a great day from Shota Imanaga, though it's worth talking about the fly balls.

This offseason, several Cubs pitchers honed new splitters, and the team signed established hurlers who already threw the pitch.
