Estonian public broadcaster Eesti Rahvusringhääling (ERR) is one of the most underfunded organizations of its kind in Europe, the broadcaster's board chair Erik Roose says. At the same time, cultural funding as a whole needs boosting in Estonia, while some mistruths put about by some of the private sector media leaders need dispelling, Roose says.

A media firm has lost a law suit it took out against the government office, after the organization had been barred from attending regular government press conferences in person. Two lower-tier courts found that the government office has the right to establish the circle of participants attending such press conferences, while the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal.

The Ekspress Group, a media concern largely owned by businessman Hans H. Luik, has approved a dividend policy where 30 percent of annual profits will be paid towards dividends, while has proposed an extraordinary dividend of €0.10 per stock.

For the media group Ekspress Group, 2020 was a successful year: regardless of the emergency situation and uncertain economical situation, the media group managed to improve its profitability.
