Newcomer upsets Ward 7 incumbent, winning by just a handful of votes.

A dramatic Nov. 7 election ended with no mayoral candidate winning 50% of the vote and three incumbents being ousted from City Council. Some representatives supported an acknowledgement while others felt that it did nothing to actually address past injustices against indigenous people.

Eames believes that full employment in Lewiston schools requires a pay scale that can compete with school districts in neighboring towns.

Qualified candidates for mayor include Carl Sheline, Josh Pietrowicz, Luke Jensen and Jon Connor.

Eames represents Ward 3.

Under the new policy, the district can only call for an early release day if parents are notified no later than the night before.
