The Ellwood City Area School Board agreed to amend the district’s current teachers’ contract and Advanced Placement course policy during its meeting Thursday.

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital announced on Dec. 21 that it had performed the first successful pediatric heart transplant in the state in October 2020. But that claim is inaccurate. Pediatric heart transplants have been performed in Connecticut since the 1980s. The first at Yale was in 1989. The first in Hartford may have been performed as far back as 1986.
