Essex District Attorney Paul F. Tucker made the announcement Friday, a little more than six months after Sidney Olson was fatally struck on the streets of Andover.

Sidney Mae Olson’s spirit is propelling her parents forward.The five-year old was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while crossing a downtown Andover intersection May 9 with her mother, three-year-old brother and young cousin.

The family of Sidney Olson, the 5-year-old girl who was killed​ by a truck in Andover, said the tragedy has left "an impossible void in our lives."

On June 16, 1984, flags flew in Cheboygan to celebrate the grand reopening of the Cheboygan Opera House after 17 years of closure.

With the vision of City Manager William Chlopan and under the oversight of five-term Mayor Ellis Olson, the push to finish the Opera House took on momentum in 1982 and 1983.

Another main feature of the library’s genealogy and local history room is the microfilm collection.

And so 1978 ended. 1979 began with resignations, terminations, recriminations and tempers flaring.

The Opera House once again faced demolition.

The drive to finish the work quickly paradoxically slowed things down.

Cheboygan wanted the Opera House to be preserved. The Opera House was saved!
