The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), together with the City of Charlotte and eTransEnergy, have launched a battery electric bus (BEB) pilot program.

The city of New Berns electric charging pilot program is seeing a small surge in the number of electric vehicle customers who are using the station.

The usage rate, number of customers who have taken advantage of it, and the amount of money that the stations have generated for New Bern are unknown.

New Berns first two electric car charging stations is considered to be a pilot program, according to Director of Public Utilities Charles Bauschard.

The City of New Bern strives to stay ahead of the emerging electric vehicle market by putting two fast charge stations downtown.
