The free speech committee plans to present conclusions to the Faculty Senate next month. The University recently reiterated protest policies as students formed a pro-Palestine encampment.

Two GSC members proposed a Free Speech Bill that would seek University clarification on policies surrounding student expression and endorse overnight camping in White Plaza.

The GSC also passed two resolutions — one seeking to improve academic accommodations for student athletes and another proposing expansions to Stanford’s airport shuttle services — at its Tuesday meeting.

The Undergraduate Senate clarified proposals to grant student athletes priority enrollment at its Tuesday meeting. Senators hope the resolution will prevent academic consequences tied to increased travel time from Stanford's move to the ACC.

After discussing a resolution to increase accommodations for student-athletes, the GSC elected second-year Ph.D. students Paul Markley and Áron Ricardo Perez-Lopez to fill two at-large seats.

The Graduate Student Council dove into student funding, club processes, free speech and potential future joint bills between the GSC and UGS.

The SGWU was unable to book White Plaza for a Nov. 3 rally to include graduate fellows in the bargaining unit because it is not classified as an official student organization by the University, according to GSC members.
