Garrett dives into plans to open pool

GARRETT — Plans are moving forward to open the Garrett City Pool this summer. Work has begun this week to dismantle the large, blue slide at the city pool in order for a new slide to be installed this spring, according to Parks Superintendent Eric Mossberger. The city is taking applications for lifeguards and will train them for the season, with the mindset that the pool will be open this year. Recycling center shows increased revenue, materials

GARRETT — While deliveries at the City of Garrett recycling center were down by nearly one-third last year, the center showed increases in both revenue and recyclable materials, City Planner Milton Otero reported to the Board of Works Tuesday. His report tallied a total of 2,529 vehicles that delivered recyclable materials to the drive-through site on North Cowen Street in 2020, a decrease of 30.6% from 2019.
