Growing discontent among coaches and parents about the lack of practice space have led to a request for a dedicated practice/game field.

The building on Griffin Avenue will allow the nonprofit to host all of its assistance programs at one location.

Some locals say the acknowledgement is “grandstanding”; others, maybe especially from the Muckleshoot Tribe, say it’s a sign of partnership and a way to increase Native American visibility.

The revamped POM Food Bank is located at 1720 1/2 Wells Street, and is open Mondays through Wednesdays.
