Equating Troubles killers with victims is an obscene injustice… and shows how far NI still has to come
If a torturer or murderer dies while carrying out an atrocity, are they a victim? Obviously not, as my seven-year-old son could comprehend. But such basic moral concepts are now considered old-fashioned in Northern Ireland. The enlightened people paid large salaries to help resolve questions most people arenโt asking have decided the killer is in fact a victim. More than that, his family should be rewarded for his victimhood.
