Though the city Medical Examiner ruled Neely’s death a homicide Wednesday evening, Adams and Hochul have not called for the U.S. Marine’s arrest, prompting criticism.

Mayor Adams plans to depart Wednesday for the 2022 Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism, which is being held in Athens. After that, he’ll jet to Doha, Qatar — a trip his public schedule describes as “intended to learn more about the 2022 World Cup” — given that New York City and New Jersey will serve as hosts to the event in 2026.

The trip comes with anxieties about anti-Semitic hate heightened in New York City after cops busted two 22-year-olds accused of plotting an attack on an unspecified synagogue.

The data, compiled by Advocates for Children of New York, shows that about 104,000 students across the city’s public school system suffered from homelessness in the last school year, which stretched from September 2021 through June 2022. That’s a 3.3% uptick as compared to the 2020-2021 school year, when 101,000 students were identified as homeless by the advocacy group.

Hank Sheinkopf, a veteran Democratic political strategist, said he sees Adams’ decision to let bail reform take a backseat as an olive branch to Hochul, who’s in a tight reelection race against Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin.

Adams recently met with the Daily News in an exclusive interview to demonstrate how he and other city officials track the data in real time — and how the new system has enabled the city to more proactively remove the homeless encampments.

The new mask-optional policy, which takes effect Monday, will apply to all city schools staffers and students over age five
