A Wyoming County man has pleaded guilty to assault after he broke in to a home and violently beat one of the residents, ultimately resulting in his death, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Authorities say 51-year-old Eric Cushman broke into a Silver Springs home on September 10th and beat a victim in the head and neck.

The home invasion occurred in September 2022. The victim died after spending around a month in the hospital.

Wyoming County District Attorney Donald O'Geen announced Thursday that a Silver Springs man was arraigned on an indictment following a fatal assault during a home invasion.
