The Senate voted on Thursday to confirm Gen. Eric Smith to become the next Marine Corps commandant, the third nomination to move through the Senate after Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-AL) monthslong blockade on military promotions and confirmations.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville has blocked unanimous consent for seven months in protest of the Department of Defense’s pro-abortion policies.
