Birmingham Brother Rice coach Rick Palmer had to be happy with his team’s 57-50 win over Novi Detroit Catholic Central in Tuesday’s CHSL Tournament semifinal, but a big reason for his joy is it sends his Warriors to another venue he has had his sights more set on.

Novi Detroit Catholic Central's T.J. Nadeau is one of those players who you feel has been killing your team on the basketball floor for a decade, when in reality it's just been four years. But boy, does the 6-foot-5, four-year starter Nadeau pack a punch with his dogged and efficient play and do damage that's long-lasting.

Entering the night on a four-game losing streak, their rival De La Salle Pilots – now armed with junior standout Phoenix Glassnor, who had missed their previous meeting – exploded on an 8-0 run to open the night.
