A man in Brazil who ate one of the most poisonous fishes in the world died an agonizing death after spending five weeks in hospital fighting for his life, according to reports.

A 46-year-old Brazilian man has died in agony after he failed to recover from eating a poisonous pufferfish over Christmas. The fish has enough poison to kill 30 humans.

A Brazilian man named Magno Sergio Gomes tragically died after ingesting a poisonous pufferfish that packs enough venom to kill 30 humans.

According to New York Post, a friend had given the fish to Magno Sergio Gomes as a gift. Gomes, 46, was rushed to the hospital and suffered a cardiac arrest for eight minutes.

The man and his friend decided to gut the fish, remove its liver, and then boil and consume it with lemon juice.

Although his friend survived the horrific incident, he is having trouble with his legs.

Despite medical intervention, including intubation and life support, the man showed no signs of recovery and succumbed to the poisoning after 35 days. | Trending
