The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a suspected drug trafficker, Goodluck Odeh at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
In a series of tweet on Sunday, the drug agency said the suspect was arrested with 2 kilogramme of heroin, which has a street value of ₦564million concealed in the lining of the false bottom of his suitcase.
The 40-year-old suspect from Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State was arrested at the departure lounge of the airport during an outward clearance of Ethiopian aircraft en route Abuja-Addis Ababa to Italy.
Upon interrogation, Odeh claimed he has been living in Italy since 2015 arriving through Libya.

ADDIS ABABA, April 5 (Xinhua) The Eritrea Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) announced on Monday the Red Sea nation will resume partial international flights starting from mid-April.
In a press statement, the ministry said there will be resumption of weekly flights from the Eritrean capital Asmara to Ethiopia s capital Addis Ababa as well as from Asmara to Dubai starting from mid-April. There will be weekly flights from Asmara to Addis Ababa and Asmara-Dubai with implementation of strict preventive measures including prior Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing, Rapid Antigen Testing upon arrival at the airport and other preventive measures, the statement from MoTC read.

ADDIS ABABA, April 5 (Xinhua) Ethiopia registered 1,878 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 215,189 as of Sunday evening, the country s Ministry of Health said.
The ministry said 27 new deaths from COVID-19 were reported across the country during the same period, bringing the national death toll to 2,963.
The East African country reported 742 more recoveries, taking the national count to 161,968.
According to the ministry, Ethiopia currently has some 50,256 active COVID-19 cases, of which 857 are said to be under severe health conditions.
Africa s second most populous nation, Ethiopia has so far reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the East Africa region, being the fourth most affected country in Africa in terms of positive cases.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia this morning visited houses being constructed by the Addis Ababa City Administration for the homeless street children in the capital.
“Profoundly honored to visit today the street children housing project in Addis Ababa. The project, intended to accommodate up to 3,500 children, forms part of our countrywide initiative to enable them pursue a happy and dignified life,” he twitted with a photograph.
“We will ceaselessly endeavor to deliver to all our citizens the opportunity to lead a decent life. No social, economic or political predicament can withstand our resolve if we practice the ideals of MEDEMER through our unique collective identity – Ethiopianism!” he posted.
