David Pisor’s Chicago restaurant group, Etta Collective, — home to Etta, Aya Pastry, and Cafe Sophie — is in free fall with open tabs, threatened evictions, and closures post-Maple & Ash split.

Owner David Pisor announced the Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing Thursday, less than three weeks after the abrupt closure of Etta in River North.

David Pisor — owner of Etta and Aya Pastry — defaulted on a $2.5 million loan on Jan. 17, according to a filing from lender Wintrust Bank in Cook County court.
