Due to excessive heat, participants in the TC 10 Mile and marathon found out race morning that the events were off. 

It's the first cancellation in the marathon's history.

The 47th annual Bellin Run kicks off at 8 a.m. Saturday in front of Bellin Hospital.

As of Thursday, about 2,700 people registered for all events, which includes the marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, half marathon relay and 5K.

The New York City Marathon will kick off on Sunday morning with runners facing possible record-high temperatures.
