in which their voice was included. they wanted a peace process that was not just an exit strategy on the part of the u.s., and a pr strategy on the part of the taliban, which is essentially what it was. so they feel that not only was there were their rights forfeited. but that there s never even a real chance for peace and that would have been absolutely critical. and and also, even with the evacuation, you know, the the priorities of the u.s. and the rest of the international community were citizens, and then allies. and allies were the people that worked with these with the the embassy or with security forces. well, 80% of those were men. we actually sat down, we made that assessment. those of us who are working with with women and human rights defenders. um, and what was and it was left up to, largely, the philanthropic community, individuals to try to help the
julie: will cain joins me now. i don t think this is any surprise. obviously america believes that the pull-out was a failure. also a lot of americans believe that we shouldn t have been in afghanistan to begin with. but it was a 20-year long war. we had to get out at some point. the exit strategy, though, is sort of blowing up in biden s face, wouldn t you agree i would suggest the polls suggest they can tell the difference in the two questions. whether we should leave and how we left. that s been a calculated effort on behalf of the biden administration and partners in the media as though we can t tell the difference. an overwhelming percentage of american public were ready to leave afghanistan. i think that s a false choice that most americans don t consider the details when it comes to whether or not we should have zero troop presence, how much if anything should we have left behind. that being said we were ready
for bad actors. that s a problem we re now in. however, white house press secretary jen psaki says they have that covered. let s watch. i can absolutely assure you that no one is coming into the united states of america who has not been through a thorough screening and background check process and there are many individuals, as you noted, who have not been through that process and they have gone to lily pad countries as that process has been completed. it doesn t mean that s because there is a flag. it means they have not completed their paperwork. julie: given how the exit strategy went down. can we trust that? well look, i have confidence in our screening and vetting system when it is done the appropriate way. again as we vet individuals coming out of afghanistan it is very difficult. you have to validate passports.
when the directive went out, it said in bold that this must be called the biden-harris administration that she wanted to be attached to the administration and its accomplishments. you think they re regretting that or kamala harris is? i wouldn t want to be attached to what s going on right now. right. i do not blame her at all for wanting to have knock to do with the debacle of the withdrawal. if she said she was part of the decision to follow-through with the exit strategy that might be safe from her. hiding has been effective for this administration for years. that was the campaign approach taken during the 2020 campaign. the media allowed president biden and vice president harris to hide from the voters. not answer questions, not explain what they would be doing and it has worked well unlike the other administration that so much discussion there was too
on this although his answers are confusing and untruths have been told in the news conferences. i think the reason they re not letting kamala harris come out is that her awkward laughter will seek through when asked the tough questions of what happened, what was the exit strategy. when you were the last person in the room, what was told if this happened and our americans are trapped, what is our plan. there is no plan. that s why they don t want her talking. she will laugh her way through it awkwardly. kayleigh: she did that when she walked up to a group of reporters when afghanistan started. she laughed when she addressed the reporters. leaders don t laugh. they don t hide. they do what president trump did and vice president pence did. vice president pence was always in my office. we want to address the american people. that s what a leader does. right, john? we have leaders in the white house right now that have not
