While the Global Strike Eagle may seem crazy, the impetus behind it and the approach it takes to deploying payloads aren’t really all that crazy at all.

America’s F-15 Eagle has long since secured a position in the pantheon of the world’s greatest fighters.

The success of the F-15 airframe, and the changing threat environment, led to the production of the ground-attack-capable F-15 E-variant – known as the Strike Eagle.

Operation was response to attacks on U.S. troops in the region, Defense Secretary Austin said.

As critics within and outside the U.S. Air Force have noted, the F-15EX – an aircraft that was supposed to be a cheaper alternative to the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II – now has a higher price tag than the fifth-generation stealth fighter.

As the world’s first-ever fifth-generation platform, the F-22 has legendary connotations. The stealthier, faster, and more maneuverable fighter platform has wowed industry experts and aviation buffs alike since it entered service with the Air Force several decades ago.

It can be difficult to assess just how grievous these breaches truly are, let alone how or why these leaks keep happening.

The new F-15EX Eagle can notably store up to 30,000 pounds of munitions, a huge threshold when compared to the F-35 Lightning II’s internal storage capacity of 6,000 pounds.
