A wave of new development is in the works for one of the Fan’s main thoroughfares that’ll bring to the neighborhood dozens of new townhomes, duplexes, apartments and more. 

Over a year and a half in the works, the brand new Shyndigz Market is now open at 1912 W. Cary St.

With $8.9 million in state funding, Richmond’s Department of Public Works plans to implement safety improvements at one in ten Richmond intersections. 

Nicole and Bryon Jessee are currently building a 19-room boutique hotel tentatively named Dear John at 1912 W. Cary St., as well as a new, larger and improved Shyndigz Market and café in the same space.

"They make everything totally from scratch, and offer menu items featuring traditional flavors with unique twists."

“The vision is that it’s the one-stop shop to any event you’re going to,” co-owner Bryon Jesse said of the much larger space.
