Farhad Mohammad, 45, of Osborne Street, Colchestter, is on trial at the Old Bailey accused of making five money transfers for Idris Usman in Syria.

Farhad Mohammad, 45, is on trial at the Old Bailey accused of making five money transfers to Idris Usman in Syria while he was allegedly fighting for the Al-Qaeda linked Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

Two accused, Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Gause, had also made a video of the act and posted it online, which sent shockwaves .

Nine individuals accused in the murder case of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal, who was hacked to death in June 2022 for allegedly supporting a social media post against Islam, had charges framed against them, including under the anti-terror law UAPA. The accused, Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Gause, filmed the act and posted it online. Charges were framed under various IPC sections and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Farhad Mohammad, of Osborne Street, Colchester, has appeared at the Old Bailey to deny the charges.

A man has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with funding terrorism over two years.

A Special NIA court here on Friday granted bail to one of the nine accused under trial in the Kanhaiya Lal Murder case of Udaipur.

Kanhaiya Lal was murdered last year for allegedly sharing a social media post on the Prophet made by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Two other people, both Pakistani nationals, have also been chargesheeted by the NIA and are yet to be arrested.
