"We give them food coupons that they can use to buy food in the hospital canteen, and the canteen will bill us monthly," said Fr. Marlito G. Ocon, SJ.

The Philippine parish has been feeding malnourished children for 120 days.

Domino’s Pizza, Wow Momo, PVR Cafe, Junior Kuppanna, Chai Kings, Burger King, and Hotel Residency are among the food outlets that have extended their support to the initiative by No Food Waste Chennai.

“When you look out in a neighborhood like ours, there are a lot of people who are frustrated, anxious, sad, lonely, lost a loved one — we want those people to come to us,” remarked Sister Mary Johnice.

At a time when many are finding it difficult to make arrangements for their daily necessities, an Andheri west resident has taken up the responsibility of feeding nearly 250 families every day.
