Holtville firefighters have been spreading Christmas cheer to kids in the community for 14 years with the Guardian Angel event.

Margot Alzaida Jelleberg died on November 26, 2022, at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, MN. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by a funeral at 12 p.m. on December 9th, at Sundahl Lutheran Church in Aneta, ND. Burial will take place at Silent Hills Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements by Bilden Askew Funeral Home, Northwood, ND. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Sundahl Lutheran Church or Silent Hills Cemetery to help maintain their beautiful gardens.

Finley Elementary School to Host Community Read-Along Finley Elementary School will be hosting the second annual "One School, One Book" read-along on Monday, January 11th. The childrens novel "The One And Only Ivan" is the featured book. Families of Finley Elementary students received the book as part of the One School, One Book program through the Read to Them® organization. Parents are encouraged to read with their kids at home. Thursday, December 10, 2020 Special to the State Gazette Dyer County Schools announced Thursday afternoon the phases for all schools within the system for the upcoming week of December 14-18, 2020. Dyer County High School will remain in Phase 2, while Fifth Consolidated Elementary, Finley Elementary, Holice Powell Elementary, Newbern Elementary, Trimble Elementary, Northview Middle School, and Three Oaks Middle School will remain under Phase 3 guidelines.
