The British Film Institute (BFI), one of the UK’s most powerful and influential movie funding bodies, is finally addressing claims of racism.

The British Film Institute vowed to improve after its handling of Leaving Neverland producer Faisal A Qureshi's complaint over alleged discrimination.

The support includes £36.6 million production and development funding, offering crucial support for the UK independent feature film sector through four new funds.

The additional funding is for a dedicated role to champion and facilitate a positive working culture, prioritising cast and crew wellbeing.
