HAYDEN, ID. — According to the CDA River Ranger District, the Ridge Creek Fire containment has increased to 8%.

The response to help in Hawaii will no doubt be huge and organizations — including the Red Cross — are already there providing aid.

The Niarada Fire a dozen miles west of Elmo has burned over 20,000 acres while containment has grown to 39%.

The Bowles Creek Fire west of Skalkaho Pass is burning over 3,500 acres and remains 5% contained.

The Big Knife Fire burning east of Arlee has burned over 4,900 acres and is 7% contained as of Thursday.

The lightning-sparked Ridge Fire is burning six miles southeast of Hungry Horse on the Flathead National Forest.

The Kootenai National Forest reports 11 new fires were seen on Monday.

With two fires burning relatively close to each other, the U.S. Forest Service has both responses working hand-in-hand with each other.
