The Court of Appeal is yet to set a date for the hearing of an appeal filed by Elizabeth Hughes and Vanda Radzik on the High Court decision not to quash the Environmental Permit granted to ExxonMobil Guyana Limited (EMGL) for the 12- inch pipeline that will be used to transport natural gas for the Gas-to-Energy (GTE) project since November 15, 2023.

Following the ruling of Justice Gino Persaud on March 24, 2023, that President Mohamed Irfaan Ali violated the Constitution of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana when on June 16, 2021, he unlawfully suspended the members of the Police Service Commission, Attorney General, Mohabir Anil Nandalall, SC, MP, made a statement on the National Communications Network (NCN) where he sought to justify the unconstitutional action of the President.

Section 324 of the Criminal Law Offences Act of Guyana states: “Everyone who commits willful and corrupt perjury, or subordination of perjury, in order to procure the conviction of any person for an indictable offence punishable with death, or imprisonment, shall be guilty of felony and liable to imprisonment for life”.
