We wish to respond to a letter in today’s Kaieteur News by Leyland Chitlall Roopnaraine entitled “The speaker of the House”. First, the allegations made by Roopnarine have no factual basis. What is fact is that the Speaker’s work is guided by the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament. His actions are therefore no different from previous PNCR Speakers Dr. Barton Scotland and Raphael Trotman.
