A whopping 157 drivers for Stagecoach East, have bagged certificates applauding their exceptional standards and commitment to road safety.

Almost 200 bus drivers in Cumbria and North Lancashire have been honoured with a prestigious award for their smooth driving.

Stagecoach bus drivers are continuing to be awarded under a global measurement programme for driving safety.

The cohort has achieved Fleet Elite status in a globally-recognised scheme which rewards smooth and safe driving. Telematics company GreenRoad records driver performance remotely using equipment installed on every Transdev bus. Drivers are monitored for a year before they can earn the status and must achieve an average of five or fewer ‘events’ – such as harsh braking – in every ten hours on the road. Stagecoach announced today that it will become the first bus operator in the country to invest in the national roll-out of new bridge alert technology across its fleet.
