Surabaya for a two hour flight. the pilot asked to call and change flight path and 6:17 42 minutes into the flight all contact was lost. no distress call was received. there was severe weather at the time in the area and thunderstorms and lightning. those conditions mean the knight likely encountered turbulence but not even within the thunderstorms but several miles beyond the storm. the pilot of the plane had more than 20,000 hours of flying experience and the plane made more than 13,000 trips....
