Visiting the farm store housed in a pre-WWII dairy barn at Flying C Ranch isnt as quick as a trip to the local grocery but it gives shoppers access to pasture-raised, grass-fed, dry-aged beef reared just 8 miles east of Conway.

The summer heat and lack of rain hurt many Arkansas farmers, from their crops to livestock, and now those farmers are thankful Fall is right around the corner.

As triple-digit temperatures and weeks without rain take the life out of pastures and hay meadows, Arkansas cattle producers are having to sell part or all of their herds.

The recent dry days have taken a toll on Arkansas farmers and made it difficult to grow grass and hay to help keep their livestock fed.

For one Sikh trucker driver, long hours on the road provide time for reflection. “When I’m driving,” he says, “I see God through his creation.”
