The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced the stakes schedule for the 2024 winter meet at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Thoroughbred trainer and Baltimore, Md., native Leon Blusiewicz died on Sunday at the age of 92.

The holiday weekend kicks off with a hefty pile of graded stakes races on a solid Saturday of racing, including good cards from both Ellis Park and Woodbine Racetrack.

"We've got several works into him and he's been doing good. We're anxious to see how he'll do on Saturday," Mott said.

"He put us back on the map and has been a great horse to be around. He’s a bit like a rockstar, he’s got that ambiance to him.”

Lord Miles, trained by Saffie Joseph Jr. and piloted by Paco Lopez, returned a whopping $120.50 for his 59-1 upset score in Saturday’s Wood Memorial (G2) at Aqueduct Racetrack.

"To try and get a second Grade 1 on his resume is very important for him. If he was to win or run well, you would definitely consider the Met Mile after this,” Joseph, Jr. said.
