The Greenhouse Project hosts its annual Early Spring Plant Sale, Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering an array of perennial and annual varieties ready to go into your garden.

Heading into the weekend, theres a bevy of events around the Carson City region that brings a cool breeze to the first three days of summer. The 16th Motor Officer Challenge kicks off Friday at 7 a.m. at Mills Park. Lace up the shoes for a Friday morning walk at East Silver Saddle Ranch hosted by Muscle Powered.

Today, Wednesday, Carsons Bee City invites members of the public and the Carson City Chamber of Commerce to a “What’s the Buzz Carson City” event at Foothill Garden from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The garden trail is located at 1535 Medical Parkway behind the Cancer Center.

The Coronavirus has made many people want to grow their own food. At the Foothill Garden, a partnership with The Greenhouse Project and Carson Tahoe Health, Will Pierz, the garden manager and farmer, is growing some unusual, but hardy edible plants.

This weekend, grab mom and the family and come on out to the annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale hosted by The Greenhouse Project, located on the campus of Carson High School. Due to the event’s growing popularity, the sale is expanding to both Friday, May 10, 2:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

What began 12 years ago as a music celebration in the back parking lot at Cafe at Adele’s has now grown past the confines of John Street — adjacent to the restaurant — and moves this year to Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

Tickets are on sale for the 14th annual Grateful Harvest Dinner taking place Monday, Sept. 18, at Nashville Social Club in Carson City. This annual event is The Greenhouse Projects primary fundraiser with proceeds allowing the organization to continue its work of agricultural education and growing food for the communitys food insecure.
