After nearly 3 years, the prosecution of Wilber Martinez-Guzman is finally coming to a close. During a status hearing Thursday morning in Washoe County District Court, Guzman pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including four First Degree Murder with Use of a Deadly Weapon charges. Calmer winds, and amplified firefighting efforts along the path of the Caldor Fire near South Lake Tahoe aided in helping steer the wildfire away from hundreds of homes, fire officials said. As of Thursday morning the fire was 210,259 acres and 25 percent contained.
