Direct listing of Indian companies on foreign exchanges at IFSC in GIFT City to be announced soon

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened marginally lower on Monday amid cautious sentiments ahead of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) announcement for the second quarter of 2023 (2Q 2023) this Friday, said analysts. 

Indian companies can now directly list on foreign exchanges and on the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) bourse in Ahmedabad.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said that Indian companies can now go in for direct listing on foreign exchanges and the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) in Ahmedabad. The provisions for direct overseas listing were approved by the government, as part of the Covid relief package announced in May 2020, but the rules in this regard are yet to be notified, reported PTI.
