Forest Closure News Today

The following information about the Smith River Complex Fire has been provided by the U.S. Forest Service.

The U.S. Forest Service has provided the following information:2023 Six Rivers National Forest Lightning Complex and Redwood Lightning ComplexCalifornia Incident Management Team 2 is in command of the Six Rivers

As of 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, the Loyalton Fire has burned 46,872 and is 60% contained. At least five homes and six outbuildings have been destroyed in the fire. No casualties or injuries have been reported.

Due to storm damage, Sequoia National Forest officials have issued a new Forest Closure Order.

Los Padres National Forest officials have issued a 60-day closure order for four ranger districts because of recent storm damage.
