The town voted to ask for specific changes from the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The solicitor’s office says the driver who hit and killed 61-year-old Stanley Brucker last week was not speeding, driving reckless or at fault in the crossing guard’s death.

For two days in a row, some crossing guards in Fort Mill have not shown up for duty. On Friday, Channel 9 learned they want officials to lower the speed limit in school zones after a crossing guard was hit and killed last week.
