Found Treasure News Today

While airline technology reunites over 99.5 percent of luggage with its owners, the remaining 0.03 percent ends up a store called Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro, Alabama.

According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, airlines handled almost 393 million bags in 2021, with 2 million pieces of luggage going astray.

The find, a rarity in itself, poses further questions as it was found alone with no accompanying objects and was made of stone not native to Norway.

Children’s author and Westfield resident Andrea Veras will host a reading of her new book, “Botija: A Lost and Found Treasure,” tomorrow in Northampton.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin picked up two high-caliber transfers Friday in wide receiver Tre Harris and cornerback John Saunders.
