PUTRAJAYA: Four Facebook account owners suspected of sending fake content involving the organisation of a Quran recital were summoned by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to record their statements yesterday.

They are being investigated for spreading false content.

Scam posts on Facebook falsely claimed that President Bongbong Marcos is giving away P8,000 to P10,000 of financial aid.

A fake quote card claimed that San Miguel Corp. Ramon Ang told people to avoid Starbucks to save money.

Four FB pages claimed that dozens of people fainted while buying Japanese mini air conditioners in Pasay. These rehashed claims from a previous scam modus are fake.
